HA:TFELT(YEEUN)~ME?
This album is like one of the precious pearls in
the sea of all kpop albums this year. I only saw Yeeun’s talent in
writing an producing through dream high, but now that I listened to this album,
she’s
on a whole lot of another level.
When Lim
started rapping I immediately thought, I really miss these girls. I’m seeing Lim
again in a new light, she just surprises me. You can’t compare their
voices to everyone yet. They have the most mature voices in the kpop business.
I am really happy that this album is released, the kpop world needed it.
I’m
truthfully getting fed up by all the music releases that are uncomparable to
the 1st and 2nd generation. Yeeun’s voice is just really amazing in here,
with the drum beats, she completes the song. And also her singing style in here
is so unique.
02 TRUTH
And again, I’m just really shocked by how her voice
can get. I saw her singing talent in dream high with “Hello to Myself”, but that is
just too uncomparable to her songs in this album. I’m not a really
huge fan of Wonder Girls where I listen to their albums. I just catch up with
their comebacks and their title tracks, so I didn’t that Yeeun can sing this well. When
the song started, my first impression was this will be a really soft and mellow
song, with all the smooth singing technique and falsetto here and there. Then
the chorus came, gaaaad, this song is amazing. It may not be your common song,
that’s
the catch, it’s
unique. This song can be seriously used for interpretative and modern dances.
Her adlibs are also the best, this girl.
3. AIN’T NOBODY
This song doesn’t sound like a good title song the
first time you listen to it, but after listening to it over and over again,
this is just splendid. This song is something that kpop has to be proud of. I’m still in awe
how much effort this album has been given to. Musicality wise, this song is the
winner. I don’t
know if I have the same thoughts with everyone. The feeling when the chorus
comes, the heavy drum beats really brings out the emotions in Yeeun’s voice. The
line “ain’t ain’t ain’t ain’t” is also really
catchy in its way. This girl is just freaking talented.
4. BOND
This song at the start really felt like “Tell Me”, but when
arghh Yeeun starts singing. Gosh, this song is so sexy. I don’t know how to
explain listening to this song, I feel like dancing really crazy when I first
listened to this song. The violin(or cello, I’m not sure) in here was also intense.
This is the first time I seriously listened to Beenzino(don’t judge me),
but his rap sufficed and didn’t
bring down the sexiness of the song. Sorry if I kept on using the word sexy.
Mr. Bond 0-0-7~ ‘Twas
really nice.
5. WHEREVER TOGETHER
This song seriously has the club feeling, I’m not saying
that I always go to clubs though. This has the same feeling to “We Found LOve
in a Hopeless Place”.
Get what I mean. The beats are dope man!I like this song, but not too much
compared to the other tracks, I’m
not a fan of long instrumentals in between songs. I was disappointed when the
song just ended like that. Anyways, it was still a fun song.
6. PETER PAN
Just as the title says, this song sounded
fairytale-ish. I really love the guitar accompaniment in this and Yeeun’s voice is
heavenly here. The chorus too.
“Peter
Pan, tak eme to neverland…
…Peter
Pan, let me fly away with you”.
I also like the gradual increase in beat in the bridge towards the chorus. And
oh, the final chorus is just jaw dropping, I would really like to see her
perform this song on stage someday.
7. NOTHING LASTS FOREVER
I was like, is there something wrong with my
earphones? Her voice just sounds really distant right now and I checked, but
no. The song is just really like this. I think this is a raw song, what I mean
is this was sang purely live and in one shot. The feelings in this song is just
too original and surreal, I think the distant voice also brought out something
that she wants to portray, that “Nothing Lasts Forever”.
